Description

This is the Pearl Farm. It is used for the Farming of Pearls in Anno 1800. The Pearl Farm is a harbour building and will need free harbour area for placement. It is at the start of the Jewellery production chain. It is used for the production of Pearls. The Pearl Farm will take 90 seconds to produce one ton of Pearls. This is at a rate of 0.67 tons per minute.

Improvements

In this section we will look at what improvements we can make to the Pearl Farm. The first thing that we will look at is the placement of the Pearl Farm. Placement is key as it will ensure that the Pearls enter your inventory as quickly as possible. The next thing is what items can be added to the Harbourmasters Office. The Harbourmasters Office is the same as Trade union but for buildings in the harbour area.

The placement of the Pearl Farm is key as it will allow Pearls to enter your inventory quickly. As we can see here we have placed down three Pearl Farms that lead directly into a Warehouse.

Harbourmasters Office

In this section we will be looking at what items we can add to the Harbourmasters Office building to improve the the efficiency of the Pearl Farm. The Harbourmasters Office is placed in the harbour and similar to the Trade union and Town hall that you add items to it that effect the buildings in its range. Layouts

In this section we will look at what layouts we can use for the Pearl Farm. Layouts are key when designing your islands so that the items arrive as quickly as possible. Lets now take a look at a layout for the Pearl Farm.

Option 1

Here we can see a very simple layout that uses three Pearl Farms. As we can see these Pearls will enter your Warehouse and then straight into your inventory. This layout produces two tons every minute.

Option 2

In this layout we can see that we are delivering the Pearls directly to the Trading post. This is ideal as the Pearls can be shipped back to the Old World for the production of Jewellery in the Jewellery production chain. We can also see that their is a Harbourmasters Office located in the harbour area. This is where you can place items to improve the productivity and efficiency of the Pearl farm.
