Description
This is the Artisanal Kitchen, which produces Goulash in Anno 1800. It plays a central role in the Canned Food production chain, sitting right in the middle of the process. The Artisanal Kitchen will require both Red Peppers from the Red Peppers Farm and Beef from the Cattle Farm for the production of Goulash. The production times for the Artisanal kitchen are one ton every two minutes. Or half a ton a minute.

improvements
In this section we will look at what improvements we can use to improve its productivity and efficiency. The first thing that we will look at is the placement of the Artisanal Kitchen. This will greatly improve its efficiency as it will need a steady supply of both the Red Peppers from the Red Pepper Farm and Beef from the Cattle Farm.
The next thing that we will look at is the use of a Trade Union. A Trade Union will be placed by the Artisanal Kitchen and will provide benefits to the Artisanal Kitchen depending on what items are added to it. The final thing that we can do is link it up to electricity. Electricity becomes available at the Engineers level and will greatly improve the buildings that it effects.
Placement
When placing buildings that sit in the middle of a production chain, it’s important to position them close to the farms or buildings that supply their inputs. This keeps the chain efficient and reduces travel time for materials. Here we will see that the Artisanal Kitchen is placed by a Cattle Farm and also a Red Pepper Farm.
Trade union
Here we will be looking at what items can be added to the Trade Union to improve the Artisanal Kitchen. The items you can use in the Trade Union for the Artisanal Kitchen come from several different sources. To begin with, you can create many of them at the Research Institute. In addition, traders, expeditions, and loot drops offer a wide range of useful items. Finally, some items may also appear as rewards for completing quests.
These are some of the best items that you can use for the Artisanal kitchen. You need to remember that you can only place three items in the Trade Union at any one time.
Electricity
When you get to Engineer level you will have the option to add Electricity to your factories. When you supply the Artisanal Kitchen with Electricity this will double the output. You must remember that when you double the output of the Artisanal Kitchen you will also need to increase the input of Beef and Peppers.
Layouts
In this section we will look at what layouts you can use for the Artisanal Kitchen. When planning layouts for the Artisanal Kitchen, it’s important to remember that some ingredients may need to be imported from another island, depending on your local fertility. As a result, you should design your layout with trade routes and storage in mind to keep production running smoothly.
Option 1
In this first layout we will see that all of the fertility is on the one island. This means that their is no need to spread production over more than one island. In this layout we can see both the Red pepper Farm and the Cattle Farm linking to the Artisanal kitchen. This is not a production chain as Goulash in Anno 1800 is an intermediate product.
This is the basic layout for the production of Goulash in Anno 1800. This will produce one ton of Goulash every two minutes or half a ton a minute.
Option 2
This is a more complex layout for the production of Goulash. As we can see here we have four Red pepper farms and also four Cattle farms. These will go directly into the Artisanal kitchen to produce your Goulash. This then gets delivered directly into your Warehouse. This can then be distributed directly from any Warehouse on your island into a Cannery or the Canned Food production chain.
With this layout you will be able to produce two tons of Goulash every minute.
