Description
The Bakery is the final building in the three‑step bread production chain. Before it, the chain begins with a Grain Farm and then moves to a Flour Mill. Once the flour is ready, the Bakery takes one ton of it and turns it into bread every 60 seconds. Because of this, the Bakery is a core building that keeps your population supplied with this essential food.
What is produced
The Bakery produces bread in Anno 1800, which is a basic need for both Workers and Artisans. In terms of coverage, one Bakery can supply 55 Worker residences or 27.5 Artisan residences. Additionally, bread is useful when preparing for expeditions. When you bring it along, every 50 tons provides +5 Faith and +20 Morale, making it a valuable support item for tougher journeys.

Improvement
In this section, we’ll look at the different improvements you can make to the Bakery. Since the Bakery is the final step in the three building Bread production chain, its placement is essential for maximising efficiency. In addition, you can boost its output by placing it within the range of a Trade Union and equipping productivity items. Later in the game, you can take this even further by connecting the Bakery to electricity, which provides a significant production boost.
Placement
When placing the Bakery, it’s important to position it close to the Flour Mill. By keeping the distance short, the flour reaches the Bakery quickly and without delays. As a result, the entire production chain becomes more efficient. The less time the flour spends travelling, the faster your Bakery can keep producing bread.

Here is the basic layout of the products needed to produce Bread in Anno 1800. As you can see, the goods move step‑by‑step from the Grain Farm to the Flour Mill and finally to the Bakery. By following this flow, you can easily understand how each building contributes to the overall Bread production chain.
Trade union
The Trade union is another way in which you can improve the bakery, Here we will look at some items that can be added to the Trade union to improve it.

Electricity
Here we will look at how electricity can improve the bakery in Anno 1800. When you achieve higher classes of citizens you will have the option to use electricity. When combining the bakery with electricity will double its output. Be careful when doing this as doubling the output will mean that you will also have to double the input. So in the case of the bakery it will require double the flour.
Layouts
In this section we will be looking at some of the layouts that are best suited to the Bakery in Anno 1800. In these layouts we will be looking at optimum placement along with where to place the buildings that supply it.
Option 1
In this layout we will be placing down the Bakeries that will be linked to the Flour mill. As the Flour mill produces at two tons per minute and the Bakery produces bread at only one ton per minute. You will need to place two Bakeries for every Flour mill that you use.

This layout will produce two ton of bread in Anno 1800 every minute. This layout will provide 220 Worker residences or 110 Artisans residences per minute.
