Description
This is the Bank in Anno 1800, and it serves as the luxury need for both Engineers and Investors. Once you reach 3,000 Engineers, the Bank becomes available, unlocking an important service for your higher‑tier population.
However, the Bank follows a slightly unusual progression. Even though it unlocks at 3,000 Engineers, you can actually advance to the Investor tier before the building becomes available. As a result, when you first reach Investors, the Bank’s luxury need will appear immediately, but you may not be able to fulfil it right away.
Because of this timing, the Bank often becomes a mid Investor upgrade rather than a building you place the moment you level up. It fills an important gap once it arrives, but its delayed unlock means you’ll need to plan your layout and economy with that delay in mind.
Who’s needs it fulfils
The Bank in Anno 1800 fulfils the Luxury need of both the Engineers and Investors. As with all Public Service Buildings it can only service buildings in its range. The range will depend on what type of roads you have placed down. If you have Dirt Roads the range will be full range will be 43 tiles with a max range of 88. If you have Paved Streets they have a full range of 54 tiles with a max range of 131.
When Engineer residences fall within the Bank’s full range, each one gains +2 happiness and begins generating additional income. Furthermore, the exact amount of income depends on your game settings, as shown below.
- High income – +50 Credits per minute per residence
- Medium income – +45 Credits per minute per residence
- Low income – +40 Credits per minute per residence
Likewise, when Investor residences fall within the Bank’s full range, each one receives +2 happiness and generates additional income. In addition, the exact income amount depends on your game settings, as shown below.
- High income – +125 Credits per minute per residence
- Medium income – +112.5 Credits per minute per residence
- Low income – +100 Credits per minute per residence
