This is the Clay Pit in Anno 1800. To begin with, the Clay Pit can only be built on tiles where clay naturally occurs. Because of this, you must place it directly on the designated clay resource nodes scattered around the island. As a result, your layout options are limited to these specific spots, so planning your production area around them becomes essential. The clay pit is the first item required in the Brick production chain.

Description
The Clay Pit in Anno 1800 is used to mine clay from the ground. To begin with, it can only be placed on tiles that contain clay deposits. These deposits are usually found at the base of mountains, so your placement options are limited to those spots.
In the Brick production chain, the Clay Pit is the very first step for making bricks. Once it’s running, it produces one ton of clay every 30 seconds, which means it generates two tons per minute. Because of this steady output, it provides a reliable supply for your Brick Factories.
What is produced
The Clay Pit in Anno 1800 produces clay, which is a key raw material. In both the Old World and the New World, clay is essential for making bricks. In addition to its industrial use, clay also plays a role in expeditions. For every 50 tons you bring, it provides 10 bonus hunting skill and 10 bonus morale. Because of these benefits, clay is valuable not only for construction but also for supporting your expedition crews.

Improvements
Improving clay production is challenging. In fact, the only meaningful upgrades you can make come from adding items to the Trade Union. Because of this, boosting efficiency depends entirely on choosing the right items. In the next section, we’ll look at the Clay Pit items you can place in the Trade Union to enhance your overall output.
