Description
This is the Coal Mine which produces Coal in Anno 1800. The Coal mine is the most efficient way to get Coal in Anno 1800. The other option is to use a Charcoal Kiln but this produces Coal at a much slower rate than the Coal Mine. The Coal Mine doubles the output of the Charcoal Kiln.
The Coal Mine can only be placed on top of a Coal deposit that are found around the base of mountains, so check your islands. This building is at the start of numerous production chains these include the Steel Beams production chain and the Steel production chain. The Coal Mine takes 15 seconds to produce one ton of Coal or four tons per minute.
What is produced
The Coal Mine is the most efficient way to produce Coal in Anno 1800. Coal Mines can only be built in the Old World but Coal can be obtained in other regions and also in the Old World by using a Charcoal Kiln. You will require Coal as the starting block of many items for example to produce Steel and Steel Beams. These include the Steel production chain and also the Steel Beams production chain. For expeditions Coal can be taken and will give you 15 bonus points to Hunting and 15 bonus points to Morale for every 50 tons taken.
Improvements
In this section we will look at what improvements we can add to the Coal Mine. When looking at the Coal Mine we can not really look at the placement as this is dictated by where the Coal deposits are on your island. So the first thing that we will look at is the Trade Union. This will enable us to add items to it that can then improve the productivity and efficiency of the Coal Mine. The next thing that we will look at is what benefit electricity will give to the Coal Mine.
Trade Union
In this section we will look at what items we can add to the Trade Union to improve the productivity and efficiency of the Coal Mine. Trade Union items can be obtained from numerous places in Anno 1800. They can be gained from the Research institute, trading with NPC’s, expeditions can sometimes gain you Trade Union items and then you can get them from Quests and World events. These are just some of the way in which you can get Trade union items. Finally, bear in mind that Trade Unions can only hold three items at a time.
These are some of the items that can be used in the Trade Union for the Coal mine.
Electricity
When it comes to electricity, supplying the Coal Mine with power will double its output. As a result, you can produce far more Coal from the same deposit, making your entire production chain more efficient.
Layouts
In this section we will look at layouts for the Coal Mine. In these layouts they are important for the efficient collection of Coal from the Coal Mine.
Option 1
The first layout we will look at is a very simple one that will basically have a Coal Mine and a Warehouse to deliver the Coal to. This is the simplest form and will allow Coal to enter your inventory in an efficient manor.
This is a very simple layout for the Coal mine. The Coal mine will basically lead straight into the Warehouse and then be available in your inventory. This will give you four tons of Coal per minute.
Option 2
In this layout we will be designing a plan that will have the Coal Mine along with a Furnace. We will also add a Warehouse to this design and have the Steel transported directly into this.
Here we see the Coal going in to the Furnace. This will then produce Steel. This layout will produce four tons of Coal in Anno 1800 every minute.
