This is a basic layout for the Soap factory in Anno 1800. As we can see the Rendering works are placed next to the Soap factory. We could also place a Warehouse next to the soap factory for a more efficient layout. With a Warehouse the soap will enter your inventory quickly.
Trade union
In this section we will look at what items can be added to the Trade union to improve the Soap factory. Lets take a look at these now.
| Item name | Effect | Rarity/notes |
|---|---|---|
| Industrial chemist | +60% productivity, affects all industrial buildings | Broad impact—ideal for dense production hubs including Rendering Works |
| Excavation expert | +50% productivity, -25% maintenance cost | High throughput with cost efficiency—excellent synergy with tallow input |
| Brewmaster General | +60% productivity, +10% chance of extra product | Bonus soap chance—stack with other cards for peak output |
| Alexander hancock | +80% production, +35% modules | For layouts that can place extra field modules |
| Industrial Chemist | +60% productivity, affects all industrial buildings | Broad impact, ideal for dense production hubs |
| Excavation expert | 50% productivity, -25% maintenance costs | High throughput with lower running costs |
Electricity
The Soap factory benefits from electricity. Electricity becomes available at the Engineer level. The soap factory will benefit from electricity and its output will double.
Layouts
In this section we will be looking at layout for the soap factory. The soap factory will need to be either placed by the Rendering works or by a Warehouse for greater efficiency.
Option 1
In this layout we have one Soap factory linked with two Rendering works for perfect production. It is linked to a Warehouse so that the soap becomes available as soon as possible..

This is the simplest layout for the production of soap. This layout will produce two tons of soap per minute. This layout will produce enough soap to supply 240 Worker residences or 120 Artisan residences.
Option 2
In this layout we are using two Soap factories. When using two Soap factories you will need to remember that each one will require two Rendering works. So this layout uses 2 two Soap factories along with four Rendering works. This layout also includes a Warehouse.

This layout will produce four tons of soap per minute. This layout will produce enough soap to supply 480 Worker residences or 240 Artisan residences.
