Description

This is the Sugar Cane Plantation, which produces Sugar Cane in Anno 1800 and can only be built in the New World. The Sugar Cane Plantation sits at the start of a number of production chains. These include the Rum production chain and the Chocolate production chain that will also need to be made in the New World.

The Sugar Cane Plantation will also need to be used for products further in the game and for DLC’s that you can download. At the Artisan level the only product that requires it is the Rum production chain. The Sugar Cane Plantation needs a large area for placement and also requires a lot of field space to produce Sugar cane in Anno 1800. It will take 30 seconds to produce one ton of Sugar cane in Anno 1800.

Improvements

In this section we will be looking at what improvements we can add to the Sugar Cane Plantation. One of the hardest things to deal with is the sheer size of the plantation itself.For this reason, it’s essential to plan the placement before building anything. In addition, it becomes much easier to manage the layout if you place the plantation or farm in a square or rectangular shape. By doing so, you can move it around more easily later and quickly copy the layout whenever you need to expand. The next thing that we will look at is what items can be added to the Trade Union to improve its productivity and efficiency.

Placement

When placing the Sugar Cane Plantation, it’s important to choose a layout that can be copied and reused easily. In this example, the rectangular design makes the plantation simple to move whenever needed. As a result, this layout is ideal because you can reproduce it quickly across multiple islands.

We will now look at what items can be added to the Trade Union. Trade Union “Items can be found in several different places. To begin with, many of them can be created at the Research Institute. Layouts

In this section we will look at some of the layouts for the Sugar Cane Plantation. With the Sugar Cane Plantation being a large build it will need to be placed with plenty of room around it. This will enable all of the fields to placed around it along with the production buildings that are required.

Option 1

In this layout we will be placing down a single farm along with the production buildings. We will also place down a Rum Distillery so that the Sugar Cane can be turned into Rum. We will also add a Warehouse so that your Rum can enter your inventory quicker. The Rum Distillery will require wood to create the Rum. In this layout this will be coming from the Warehouse.

This is a simple layout that will give you production values of two tons per minute of Rum. When using this layout, you’ll also need to bring wood into the Warehouse to complete the final product. As a result, it’s important to ensure a steady supply so production doesn’t slow down.

Option 2

In this layout we will be doubling the output from the Sugar Cane Plantation. This will mean that we will need to place down two plantations and then we will run both into a Rum Distillery. In this layout we will also add a Warehouse to the layout so that the extra can be stored for later use. There is also a Lumberjacks Hut for the production of wood. This is needed for the production of the barrel.

This layout will produce four tons a minute and will be placed into your inventory by way of the Warehouse.
