Description
This is the Dynamite Factory, and it is responsible for producing Dynamite in Anno 1800. Since it can only be built in the Old World, any Dynamite needed in other regions will need to be shopped there.
What is produced
This is Dynamite in Anno 1800. It is produced in the Dynamite Factory from Saltpetre from the Saltpetre Works and Tallow from the Rendering Works. The main use for Dynamite is for the Advanced Weapons production chain.
When you take Dynamite on Expeditions, it becomes a useful support item. For every 50 tons you bring, it provides +10 Force and +20 Morale, helping your ship handle tougher, more dangerous encounters. As a result, Dynamite is a reliable way to strengthen both combat checks and overall expedition resilience.

Improvements
In this section we will be looking at what improvements we can do to the Dynamite Factory. Firstly, we will look at the placement of the factory. For many buildings this section is key as this will dictate how fast items get to the factory for the production of Dynamite, and also how quick the Dynamite gets into your inventory for its next stage. Next, we will look at what items we can place into the Trade Union to give the factory a boost. Finally we will look at what happens when we supply it with Electricity.
Placement
Here we will look at the placement of the Dynamite Factory. Firstly, you will need Saltpetre for the Saltpetre Works and Tallow from the Rendering Works to produce Dynamite in Anno 1800. In the layout below we can see that we have the Saltpetre being transferred into to the Trading Post and then it can be distributed to your Dynamite Factory from the Warehouse. The Tallow will transfer directly to the Dynamite Factory. Finally, once the factory has created the Dynamite, it will go directly into your inventory via the Warehouse.

This is a very simple placement plan for the Dynamite Factory.
Trade Union
This is the Trade Union in Anno 1800. When you supply it with items, it can improve the buildings within its influence range. In this case, we’ll be focusing on the items that affect the Dynamite Factory. Throughout your Anno 1800 world, you can obtain these items from a variety of sources, including NPC traders, quests, expeditions, the World Fair and the Research Institute. With that in mind, let’s take a look at which items can boost the Dynamite Factory.
| Item name | Effects | Rarity/Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Mercury thermometer | +25% Productivity | Uncommon |
| Melting point apparatus | +35% Productivity | Rare |
| Thielemann’s tube | +50% Productivity | Epic |
These are the items that you can use to improve the Dynamite Factory.
Electricity
When we supply the Dynamite factory with Electricity, it will double the output. You must remember that when you double the output you will also need to double the input items to sustain the factory at full capacity.
Layouts
In this section we will be looking at what layouts we can use with the Dynamite Factory. Layouts are key in Anno 1800 as they enable you to maximise the space on you islands. Lets take a look at some layouts for the Dynamite Factory.
Option 1
In this layout we can see that this is the complete production chain for Dynamite in Anno 1800. As we can see we require two Saltpetre Works for the production chain to be complete.
