Description
This is the Filament Factory, and it is responsible for producing Filament in Anno 1800. To begin with, the factory acts as an intermediate building that turns Coal from the Coal Mine into Filament. From there, the Filament you produce becomes an essential ingredient for crafting Light Bulbs production chain. Finally, the Filament Factory works at a steady pace, taking 60 seconds to produce one ton
What is produced
This is Filament in Anno 1800. It is produced at the Filament Factory and is then used in the creation of Light Bulbs in the Light Bulb production chain. However, unlike many other goods, taking Filament on Expeditions provides no additional bonus. Overall, it serves only as a production material and not as an expedition support item.

Improvements
In this section we will look at what improvements we can add to the Filament Factory. The first thing that we will look at is the placement of the Filament Factory. Their are Trade union specific items for the Filament Factory. Finally we will look at what benefits adding Electricity to the Filament Factory will do.
Placement
In this section, we’ll look at how to place the Filament Factory to improve its productivity and efficiency. As always, placement is important because it affects how quickly Coal from the Coal Mine reaches the factory and how fast the Filament moves into your inventory. With that in mind, let’s take a closer look at the best placement for the Filament Factory.

As you can see here, the Filament Factory is placed right next to a Warehouse, giving it quick access to the Coal it needs to produce Filament. Once the Filament is made, it goes straight back into the Warehouse, allowing it to enter your inventory without delay.
Electricity
When you add Electricity to the Filament Factory, its output doubles immediately. However, this increase also means the factory needs twice as much Coal to keep running at full speed. In short, Electricity gives the Filament Factory a strong boost, but your supply chain must be ready to support the higher demand.
Layouts
In this section we will be looking at what layouts we can use for the Filament Factory.
Option 1
In this layout we will be placing down a Filament Factory along with a Warehouse so that it can receive the Coal. This will also mean that the Filament will also send Filament straight back into the Warehouse and into your inventory.

This layout will produce one ton of Filament every minute.
Option 2
In this layout we can see that the Filament Factory is linked via road to the Coal Mine. You will also notice that the two buildings have a Warehouse next to them. This layout is efficient as the Coal will go straight into the Warehouse. Then the Coal will leave the other Warehouse and go into the Filament Factory. The Filament will then leave the Factory and go straight into your inventory.
