Description
The Schnapps distillery in Anno 1800 is an early build and becomes available at Farmer level . The Schnapps distillery sits at the end of the Schnapps production chain. This building produces Schnapps and is a key item in the early game. For the Schnapps distillery to work it will need a steady supply of potatoes that are produced at the Potato farm. The Schnapps distillery will take 30 seconds to produce one ton of Schnapps. To enable this production rate you must ensure that you have the same amount of potato farms as schnapps distilleries.
What is produced
Schnapps is a core item in your Anno 1800 world. Schnapps is a luxury need for both Farmers and Workers. It will provide Farmers with 8 happiness and Workers with 4 happiness. Schnapps will also provide income from these two categories. One ton can provide for 60 Farmers residences or 30 Workers residences. When looking at expeditions schnapps can be used as extra rations and will also give you 20 medicine bonus and 55 morale bonus per 50 tons.

Electricity
In this section we will be looking at the addition of electricity to the Schnapps distillery in Anno 1800. When supplying electricity to the Schnapps distillery it will double the output of Schnapps. Remember when adding electricity you will have to also double the input. So in this case the Schnapps distillery will require double the amount of potatoes as before.
Layouts
Here we will look at some of the layouts that you can use to optimize the layout for the Schnapps distillery in Anno 1800.
Option 1
This is the first layout that we will look at. This layout consists of one Potato farm, one Schnapps distillery, One Warehouse, and a Fire station. The Fire station is added because a Schnapps distillery is one of the buildings that is extremely likely to have an explosion causing damage to itself and if the fire spreads to buildings that are placed around it. Here is the first layout for a Schnapps production chain.
This layout will produce one ton of Schnapps every 30 seconds or two tons a minute. This layout will produce enough Schnapps to supply 60 Farmer residences or 30 Workers residences.
Option 2
This is the second option that you can build for the Schnapps distillery in Anno 1800. Here we see that their are four fields that will supply the Schnapps distillery. These will be placed along with Warehouse and a Fire station to prevent fires.
This is a Schnapps distillery layout that will produce eight tons of Schnapps every minute. This means that this layout will supply 240 Farmers residences or 120 Workers residences.
