Description
This is the Copper Mine in Anno 1800, and it actively extracts Copper from deposits found at the base of mountains. Copper plays a key role in your economy because it drives several major production chains, including the Glasses production chain, and the Steam Motors production chain for many mid and late game industries. Once the Copper Mine is running, it delivers two tons of Copper every minute, giving you a steady and reliable supply for your factories.
What is produced
This is Copper, and it comes directly from the Copper Mine in Anno 1800. Since Copper can only be mined in the Old World, you’ll need to transport it to any other region that depends on it. Copper also plays a central role in your industry because it combines with Zinc from the Zinc Mine in the Brass Smeltery to create Brass for several major production chains. In addition, when you take Copper on expeditions, every 50 tons provides +15 Crafting and +30 Morale, giving your ship a helpful boost.

Improvements
In this section, we’ll look at how you can improve the efficiency and productivity of the Copper Mine in Anno 1800. Normally, placement is the first thing to consider, but with the Copper Mine, its location is fixed by the Copper deposits on your island. You’ll always find these deposits at the base of mountains, so your improvements will focus on everything that supports the mine rather than where it sits.
Next, we’ll look at the Trade Union. This building lets you slot in items that directly boost the Copper Mine’s productivity and efficiency, giving it powerful upgrades within its influence range. After that, we’ll examine how adding electricity transforms the Copper Mine, pushing its output even higher and keeping your Copper supply strong.
Trade Union
In this section, we’ll look at the Trade Union and the items you can add to improve the Copper Mine in Anno 1800. To begin with, you can obtain these items from many different places across your world. For example, several NPC traders, such as Eli Bleakworth, Archibald Blake, and Isabel Sarmento, regularly sell useful mining items. In addition, you can earn more items through Expeditions, Quests, World Fair, and other gameplay activities.
Electricity
When you look at the Copper Mine in Anno 1800, it’s one of the buildings that benefits greatly from electricity. Once you supply it with power, the mine instantly doubles its output, giving you a stronger and more consistent flow of Copper for your production chains.
Layouts
In this section we will be looking at layouts for the Copper Mine in Anno 1800. When planning your layouts, it’s important to remember that the Copper Mine can only be placed on a Copper deposit. Because of this limitation, the deposit’s location will shape the layout options you can use around it. Lets take a look at what layouts we can use.
Option 1
Here we can see that we have placed down a Copper Mine on top of the Copper deposit. We have also placed down a Warehouse close by so that the Copper can be transported straight to it and in to your inventory.

Option 2
In this layout we will be looking at placing down the Copper Mine on the Copper deposit and then we will also place down a Brass Smeltery. This will mean that the Copper will go directly into the Brass Smeltery. We will also place down a Warehouse so that Zinc can be transported from the Zinc Mine to the Brass smeltery from it. Once the Brass has been created it will then go straight into the Warehouse and into your inventory.
