How to create the Jewellery production chain in Anno 1800

This is the Jewellery production chain in Anno 1800. This is a complex chain as you will need to bring items from the New World to the Old World. One of the key ingredients for the production of Jewellery is Gold. To obtain Gold you must first get them get Gold Ore from the Gold Mine that is only found in the New World. The other item that you will need to bring from the New World is Pearls from a Pearl Farm. So when planning your Jewellery production chain you will have to be aware of this. The other buildings that we require are Coal Mine that can be built in the Old World along with Goldsmiths that can be built in the Old World. Finally you will require the Jewellers to create the final product.

What is produced

This is Jewellery and is a late game consumer product. Jewellery is a Luxury product for the Investor class and also is a Lifestyle need for the Artistas class. When taking it on expeditions it will grant you 25 bonus points to Diplomacy and also 25 bonus points to Morale per 50 tons taken.

Buildings in this chain

Here we will look at what buildings are in this chain. In this section we will look at the overall costs of the buildings. The first thing that we will need to look at is the Gold Mines. We need a huge amount of Gold Ore for the production of Gold. Once we made the Gold in the Goldsmiths using coal this will then need to go to the Jewellers and wait for the delivery of Pearls from the Pearl Farm. Pearls will have to mined in the New World and like the Gold Ore will need to be shipped to the Old World for production. Lets take a look at these buildings now.

Gold Mine

This is the Gold Mine in Anno 1800. It is used for the production of Gold and can only be placed in the New World. You will only be able to mine Gold Ore at the bottom of mountains. These are what is called Gold Deposits and you will place a Gold Mine on top of these deposits.

To build the Gold Mine it will cost you:

  • $2500 Credits
  • 8 Timber
  • 15 Bricks

You will also need to account for these running costs:

  • -250 Maintenance
  • 100 Obreros

  • Function: To mine Gold Ore.
  • Placement: Can only be placed on top of Gold deposits.
  • Production rate: 0.4 tons per minute
  • Regions: New World
  • Unlocks at: 300 Obreros

Coal mine

You can only build a Coal Mine in specific areas of the map. To find the right spot, start by checking which mining sites are designated for coal. You will have access to the Coal Mine at 250 Artisans and this will mean that you can destroy your Charcoal kilns and move over to Coal Mines for better production rates. For this production chain it will lead into the Goldsmiths for the production of Gold.

To build the Coal mine, you will need the following:

  • $600 credits
  • 4 timber
  • 5 bricks
  • Coal deposit on the island

You will also need the following ongoing costs:

  • 50 workers
  • $50 credits per minute for maintenance

Once these conditions are met, the mine will continuously produce four tons of coal per minute. Furthermore, this consistent fuel flow helps maintain smooth production, preventing slowdowns and keeping your factories that require Coal efficient. Ultimately, with dependable coal coming in, the rest of your industry can operate at full speed.

  • Function : mines coal.
  • Limitation : can only be placed on coal deposits.
  • Unlocks : unlocks at 250 Artisans.
  • Depletion : Coal mines do not deplete over time.
  • Region : available in the Old World and Cape Trelawney

Goldsmiths

This is the Goldsmiths that turns Gold Ore and Coal into Gold in Anno 1800. Gold is an intermediate item that is used for the production of Jewellery and Pocket Watches. The Goldsmiths can only be built in the Old World so you will need to transport Gold Ore from the New World to supply the Goldsmiths. You will need to place the Coal Mine either close by or have a Warehouse close by for the delivery of Coal and Gold Ore to the Goldsmiths. The Goldsmiths will produce one ton of Gold every minute from Coal and Gold ore.

To build a Goldsmiths it will cost you:

  • $27000 Credits
  • 8 Timber
  • 15 Bricks
  • 12 Steel Beams
  • 10 Windows
  • 10 Reinforced Concrete

You will also have to account for these running costs:

  • -750 Maintenance

Pearl Farm

This is the Pearl Farm in Anno 1800. It is used for the production of Pearls and can only be placed in the New World. The Pearl Farm will require free harbour to be placed and will produce Pearls at the rate of 0.67 tons per minute and will need Pearl Fertility on the island that you place it down on. Once you are producing Pearls they will then need to shipped to the Old World for processing.

To build the Pearl Farm you will need

  • $8500 Credits
  • 10 Timber

You will also need the following running costs:

  • 50 Jornaleros
  • -25 Credits per minute for Maintenance

Once you have the needs met you can then get a steady supply of Pearls for your Jewellery production chain.

Jewellers

This is the Jewellers in Anno 1800. It is used for the production of Jewellery. It becomes available at the Investors stage. The Jewellers will need to be placed in the Old World. Once supplied with Pearls from the Pearl Farm and Gold from the Goldsmiths it will start producing Jewellery at the rate of two tons per minute.

To build the Jewellers you will need:

  • $33000 Credits
  • 10 Timber
  • 20 Bricks
  • 16 Steel Beams
  • 15 Windows
  • 15 Reinforced Concrete

You will also need the following running costs:

  • 150 Artisans
  • -2500 Credits per minute for Maintenance

Once you have these needs met you can then produce Jewellery. Ensuring that you have good trade routes set from the New World to the Old World will enable a steady flow of Jewellery into your Investors.

  • Production rate: two tons per minute
  • Regions: Old World
  • Unlocks at: 1750 Investors

Tech Tree

This is the Tech Tree for the Jewellery production chain. As you can see this production chain has a lot of buildings that you will need to accommodate on your islands. If we start at the left hand side you can see that you will need 10 Gold Mines to produce the Gold Ore that you will require. These mines will need to be placed in the New World and you may even need to put these 10 Mines over more than one island. This Gold plus the Coal will go to the Goldsmiths for the production of Gold. This Gold will then have to go to the Jewellers. The second part of this chain is the Pearl Farms that can only be built in the New World. These Pearl can then be sent to the Old World for the production of Jewellery.

Layouts

In this section we will look at a layout for the Jewellery production chain. When we look at the Tech Tree diagram above we can see that the Jewellery Production Chain does not match. This is because two of the most important items that are needed are only in the New World. These items which are Gold Ore from the Gold Mines and Pearls from the Pearl Farms will need to be shipped to your island in the Old World. As we can see here these items will be delivered to the Trading post and then can be distributed to the appropriate buildings. So the Pearls will be delivered directly to the Jewellers and the Gold Ore will be delivered to the Goldsmiths.

Improving the productivity

This is a layout that is the same as the one above but it includes Trade unions so that you can add items to them to increase their productivity and efficiency. As you can see here we have the Trade union cover the essential buildings for the production of Jewellery. You can easily place down more Trade unions for the other buildings in the chain.

Using Electricity

In this section we will look at what happens to the buildings when we add Electricity.

Gold Mine

When we supply Electricity to the Gold Mine the output of the Gold Mine will double. This means that the output of the Gold Mine will go from 0.4 tons per minute to 0.8 tons per minute. This is ideal as a production chain like this one that requires 10 Gold mines this could potentially cut this in half.

Coal Mine

When adding Electricity to the Coal Mine it will double the output of the Coal Mine. This means that the output will go from 4 tons per minute to 8 tons per minute.

Goldsmiths

When adding Electricity to the Goldsmiths it will double the output. This will take the output from 1 ton per minute to 2 tons per minute.

Pearl Farm

When adding Electricity to the Pearl Farm it has no effect.

Jewellers

When adding Electricity to the Jewellers it will double the output. This means that the output will from 2 tons per minute to 4 tons per minute.
