Description

This is the Hunting Cabin, and it farms Fur in Anno 1800. You can only place it in the Old World, and it plays a key role in producing Fur Coats in the Fur Coats production chain. It is a core element that requires to be placed on an island that has Fur Fertility.

The Hunting Cabin will require a large area for its placement, similar to a Lumberjack Hut it requires space around it. Once again, this building needs trees around it to function, and it starts producing Fur right away. After one minute, it delivers one ton of Fur. From there, you’ll need to combine the Fur with Cotton Fabric, shipped in from the New World, so you can craft Fur Coats

Improvements

In this section, we’ll look at the improvements you can add to the Hunting Cabin to boost its productivity and efficiency. To begin, the first thing to consider is placement. Before you build a Hunting Cabin, you must ensure that the island has Fur fertility, since this determines whether the building can operate at all. The second thing we will do is look at the Trade Union and what items we can add to it that can benefit the Hunting Cabin. Finally, we can look at electricity and whether it offers any benefits to Fur production in Anno 1800.

Placement

Here we will look at the placement of the Hunting Cabin. The Hunting Cabin can only be placed on islands that have Fur fertility. This will mean that in many cases you will have to set up Trade Routes for you to transport your Fur to other islands.

Electricity

When it comes to electricity, the Hunting Cabin is an exception. “Although many production buildings gain a strong boost from electricity, the Hunting Cabin doesn’t benefit at all. It cannot be powered, so its productivity stays exactly the same even if it sits inside a powered area.

Layouts

In this section, we’ll look at several layout options for the Hunting Cabin. To start, remember that the Hunting Cabin can only be placed on islands with Fur fertility. With that in mind, let’s explore a few effective layouts you can use. In most cases, you’ll also need a Trading Post to move Fur to other islands, ensuring the rest of your production chain stays supplied.

Option 1

In this layout we can see that the Hunting Cabin is placed down along with a Fur Dealer. This layout isn’t fully complete, because you’ll still need to bring in Cotton Fabric from the New World. Once you ship it to this island, the production chain can run properly.

With only having one Hunting Cabin this layout will produce one ton of Fur per minute.

Option 2

In this layout we can see that we have one Hunting Cabin and also a Fur Dealer. Their is also a Warehouse and a Trading Post in the layout. The Hunting Cabin’s Fur will go directly into the Fur Dealer building. The Trading Post will receive the Cotton Fabric from the New World via ship. This will then be transported from the Warehouse and into the Fur Dealer. The Fur Dealer will then produce Fur coats and then transport these back into the Warehouse for easy distribution or trading.

This layout will produce one ton of Fur every minute.

Option 3

This larger layout includes four Hunting Cabins, giving you almost everything you need for a full Fur Coat production chain. The only missing piece is a Trading Post to bring in the Cotton Fabric from the New World. Once you place it, the entire chain becomes fully operational. In this layout the Hunting Cabins lead straight into the Fur Dealers and then the Cotton Fabric will go from the Warehouse into the Fur Dealers for the final product which is Fur Coats.
